    R&D Engineer

    You will be working as R&D Engineer and reporting to R&D Team Lead for Electrification Business Area, Smart Power Division based in Hyderabad, India. In this role you will be responsible for identifying, proposing and implementing innovative technology development and solutions by contributing with own ideas and executing assigned product development tasks using unique technical knowledge

    Your responsibilities

    • Working on business priority projects of defined scope, applying concepts to issues of moderate to high complexity, resolving issues through immediate action or short-term planning
    • Performing assigned tasks including definition, approach, analysis, review and implementation on schedule within budget
    • Making technical decisions by applications of specialized knowledge / skills, leverage prior work where appropriate
    • Recommending technical approach, required resources and scheduling interfaces with other engineering departments, test laboratories, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, research and suppliers as required
    • Building strong relationships, interface with internal and external stakeholders to assure requirements are met, communicating status and problems to project leaders and management
    • Providing guidance and instructions to technicians while carrying out test activities, living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business
    • Leading documentation of technical design details & test results, participating in program reviews and preparing invention disclosures where appropriate
    • Your background:
    • Bachelor’s Degree- Mechanical Engineering or higher
    • Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience in R&D of LV Circuit Breakers and Switchgear
    • Experience in concept design, dynamic analysis, prototype development and testing of switchgear mechanisms
    • Proficient in CAD, Pro/ENGINEER and knowledge simulation tools like ANSY
    • Preferred exposure on overall Product Development processes, quality, value engineering, costing of electrical distribution and control products like ACB, MCCB, MCB, Contactors, Switches and should have strong communication skills

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s Degree- Mechanical Engineering or higher
    • Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience in R&D of LV Circuit Breakers and Switchgear
