You will be working as R&D Engineer and will be part of Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries Division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to R&D Team Lead and will be responsible for identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative technology, software and/or solutions by contributing with own ideas. Working independently as a member of an R&D team
Your responsibilities
- Responsible for the whole SW development life cycle (SDLC) of working software: Requirements engineering, design, implementation, test including final system testing and maintenance
- Maintaining existing software and test infrastructure. Developing software components and interfaces to embedded systems and exisitng IIoT components within ABB
- Automating system and integration tests. Handling software configuration management and build processes. Ensuring compliance with international standards
- Contributing in different phases of software development, ranging from feasibility studies and simulations to implementation and testing
- Identifying improvement potential and use creative approaches to exploit them (e.g. IoT solutions, AI/ML for data analysis and monitoring)
- Specifying, designing, implementing and executing tests of the software functions. Collaborating well with R&D teams, to deliver the product releases on time, with good quality
- Aligning with assigned targets (time, cost, quality) and completing project deliverables.
- Demonstrating sound understanding and usages of R&D processes and tools
Your background
- BE / B. Tech / ME / M. Tech, Computer Science/ Electrical or/Electronics and communication / Electronics and Instrumentation
- Having 3 -7 years of relevant experience design of Software applications. Proven track record in software architecture and programming for industrial applications SW using Microsoft Technologies (C#/WPF/ASP.NET/.NET Core) C# 5.0 or greater, WPF, SQL
- Having high level proficiency in OO design & programming with good knowledge of industrial Ethernet communication (HTTPS, secure SOAP,REST API, OPC UA, sFTP)
- Having experience in the use of the microsoft tools with fair knowledge in cyber security, SQL Server, SQL Lite
- Having experience in working in an agile development team and with Azure DevOps environment with good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Having experience with power electronics applications would be an advantage
