    R&D Engineer

    You will be working as R&D Engineer and will be part of Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries Division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to R&D Team Lead and will be responsible for identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative technology, software and/or solutions by contributing with own ideas. Working independently as a member of an R&D team

    Your responsibilities

    • Responsible for the whole SW development life cycle (SDLC) of working software: Requirements engineering, design, implementation, test including final system testing and maintenance
    • Maintaining existing software and test infrastructure. Developing software components and interfaces to embedded systems and existing IIoT components within ABB
    • Automating system and integration tests. Handling software configuration management and build processes
    • Ensuring compliance with international standards and contributing in different phases of software development, ranging from feasibility studies and simulations to implementation and testing
    • Identifying improvement potential and use creative approaches to exploit them (e.g. IoT solutions, AI/ML for data analysis and monitoring) and contributing to UX workshops and develop solutions to support ease of use of our products
    • Specifying, designing, implementing and executing tests of the software functions and collaborate well with R&D teams, to deliver the product releases on time, with good quality
    • Aligning with assigned targets (time, cost, quality) and complete project deliverables. Demonstrating sound understanding and usages of R&D processes and tools

    Your background

    • BE / B. Tech / ME / M. Tech, Computer Science/ Electrical or/Electronics and communication / Electronics and Instrumentation
    • Required with 3 -7 year’s experience in design of Software applications using microsoft technologies (C#/WPF/ASP.NET/.NET Core)
    • Having experience in C# 5.0 or greater , SQL, WPF, Cyber Security with high level proficiency in OO design & programming
    • Having good knowledge of industrial Ethernet communication (HTTPS, secure SOAP, REST API, OPC UA, sFTP)
    • Having good experience in UI/UX using figma with fair Knowledge in cyber security, SQL Server, SQL Lite with good analytical and problem solving skills
    • Having experience in working in an agile development team and with azure devops environment
    • Having experience with power electronics applications would be an advantage
