    Position summary

As a part of our simulation team you will utilize your knowledge and skills to support the design and development of the products that stay ahead of time. The work model for the role is: hybrid You will be mainly accountable for: • Cooperation with international design teams on development and optimization of new ABB electrification products like switchgears, apparatus, etc. • Carry out CFD simulations based on 2D/3D CAD models. • Fluid flow and thermal analyses of electrical equipment. • Documentation of simulations results and suggestions for design improvement. • Creating and improving simulation tools/methodologies
    Qualifications for the role

    • University degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
    • Experience in CFD (Ansys Fluent or StarCCM+ or OpenFoam): steady state/transient, laminar/turbulent flow, natural/mixed/forced convection; ability to simulate large assemblies.
    • Experience in CAD modeling: solid and surface modeling (SpaceClaim, SolidWorks, Creo Parametric).
    • Fundamentals of heat transfer and fluid dynamics - ability to perform hand calculations for basic technical concepts.
    • Basic knowledge in area of electrical engineering (required to understand the ABB products specifications and design requirements);
    • Knowledge in area of metallurgy processes will be beneficial.
    • Good command of English and strong communication skills.
    • Although not obligatory, knowledge/experience in any of the following will be beneficial: writing subroutines (User Defined Functions); C++, Java or Python; code development and maintenance; development of electrical devices and components; applying Machine Learning in CFD to accelerate simulation
