R&D Senior Engineer

This is a R&D Senior Engineer role, reporting to the R&D Team Lead in Business Area - Process Automation based in Bangalore, India. You will be primarily responsible to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product and/or solution development as well as associated IP by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions. Use unique technical knowledge to oversee development tasks. Can act as the first line contact in R&D/SW development/Product engineering for the specific product related issues and maintenance.

Your responsibilities

• Instrumentation Engineer with deep understanding on ABB 800xA DCS, Sattline DCS, Emerson DeltaV DCS
• Should have worked in process industry applications like in Oil and Gas, Chemicals and Refineries with advance understanding of concepts of Process Control Systems (DCS, PLC) and Batch Processes
• Ready to learn any new Distributed Control System including Legacy Control Systems
• Interacting with various stakeholders understand the customer demands, update self with latest trends and technologies
• Developing and maintaining customer demos to showcasing product functionalities, features and value proposition for customers. Coming out with out of the box ideas to make the demos more presentable, contemporary, and attractive to customers
• Understanding requirements and design from stakeholder, product manager, break down to user stories for development and timely delivery
• Responsible for creating clear & concise documentation such as user manual and configuration manuals on features/solutions/products
• Ready to support end to end product development throughout the product development cycle

Your background

• Graduate in engineering or MTech education is required
• 6-10 year’s experience in working in Distributed Control System for engineering and commissioning
• Good understanding on DCS System Architecture which includes various processors and network components
• Should have very good understanding to understand and decode DCS backup file
• Working with process industry applications in Oil and Gas and Chemical and Pharma with basic understanding of concepts of Control Systems
• Should have experience for engineering, testing, and commissioning for DCS System
• S88 Batch Control knowledge is preferrable
• Working Knowledge on Public interfaces OPC UA, OPC Classic
• Experience in Development environment (TFS, Visual Studio)
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
• Basic understanding on Software development process (SDLC)
• Ability to contribute and implement initiative within the project using the tools and process and ensure alignment with assigned targets (time, cost, quality).
• Maintaining systems by identifying and correcting software defects
• Creating technical specifications and unit test cases
• Strictly follow and contribute to Quality process in application development
• Completion of work on schedule, within budget and achievement of planned margins
• Proactive personal development with professional attitude and projection of company image at the forefront
• Should have Hands on DCS like Emerson DeltaV, Sattline, Forboro IA Systems (Any two will be preferable). Additional 800xA system knowledge will be preferable
