R&D Sr Engineer - Lead

You will be working as R&D Sr Engineer - Lead and will be part of Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries Division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to R&D Team Lead and will be responsible for contributing significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product and/or solution development as well as associated IP by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions. Uses unique technical knowledge to oversee development tasks. Acting as the first line contact in R&D/SW development/Product engineering for the specific product related issues and maintenance

Your responsibilities

• Maintaining, designing, and further developing core components for the software products, develop new software applications. Enhancing existing software applications, analyzing and improving efficiency, quality, and scalability of the products
• Being responsible for software development for system drive products along with analysis and solution of system issues reported by customers or end users
• Understanding new features / use cases and implement them along with understand the existing code
• Participating in design discussions, documentation and reviews with ABB team as needed, becoming proficient at developing a workflow process, troubleshooting the software, and staying current with upgrades, updates, and patches
• Collaborating in the productivity improvement initiatives like continuous integration and deployment, DevOps for faster and reliable development as well as deployment of the BL products/solutions

Your background

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in EE/computer science engineering
• Minimum 10 + years of relevant experience software development for Industrial automation & knowledge of any DCS/PLC/SCADA applications will be an added advantage
• Required minimum 5+ years of experience in application design and development using .NET framework, .Net Core, C#, VB.Net, Asp.Net, Angular/React JS, Docker, Kubernetes, Keyclock, Kafka, MQTT, and knowledge of Azure cloud is a strong advantage, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap, RDBMS such as SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, timeseries, MongoDB
• Having knowledge of Object-oriented programming, Solid Design Principles and Design patterns along with experience in developing restful APIs using API Gateways
• Good experience in standard communication protocol such as OPC server, build and version control tools in industrial automation projects is an advantage
• Experience in developing dashboards screens using Grafana, Power BI is added advantage
