R&D Team Manager

Support the R&D Manager for an assigned domain in the planning and management of research and development (R&D) activities and resources. Support the development of projects and identify the budget of the specific functional area (e.g. hardware/software/ electronic/mechanical). Lead R&D Engineers in order to meet requirements of product development projects.

Your responsibilities

• Has a responsibility as a team leader and applies knowledge and competences to a variety of activities.
• Works according to a project plan and performs as active leader in problem solving.
• Independently solves applied research, engineering and technology problems by using theoretical knowledge.
• Validate and coordinate complex design analysis and calculations based on engineering practices and business considerations.
• Ensure designs based on top-down methodology and lean manufacturing methodologies, safety, and reliability.
• Acts as senior project member providing experience and expertise in the execution and use of supporting tools, processes and methods.
• Develop and implement measures to improve operations and customer satisfaction.
• Acts as a mentor, transfer skills and knowledge, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
• Actively works to identify and mitigate risks in research and development project and activities.

Your background

• Bachelor´s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Mechatronic or Robotics Engineering.
• 5 to 8 years of experience done on Research & Development, Technology, Product, Design, Application Engineering areas.
• Expertise Level – Basic on new products development, re-design, improvement of existing and/or customized products to fulfill standards and/or customers requirements.
• SolidWorks experience.
• Strong electrical and electronic knowledge, experience and application bases.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of power electrical equipment motor control centers and/or switchgear or combination is a plus.
• Knowledge and understanding of UL, ANSI, and IEEE standards.
• Knowledge of laboratory and electrical measurement equipment.
• Advanced level of English to understand written technical specifications and literature and provide oral and written technical information/feedback. Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Chinese is a plus.
