    Position summary

    electric motors, collect test data and also conduct sound testing.

    • May participate in development of test procedures and in design, construction, verification and maintenance of test equipment
    • Must achieve and maintain certification to perform the appropriate testing for agencies such as CSA (Canadian Standards Association​), UL (​Underwriters Laboratories), DNV (Det Norske Veritas​), ABS (American Bureau of Shipping​) and SIRA
    • Must achieve and maintain lab certification to perform the following types of testing: motor efficiency, sound, vibration, heat runs, thermal development testing per UL and CSA standards and other types of electric motor testing including testing electric motors with drives
    • Program and operate variable frequency drives
    • Work with large motors and high power (motors up to 2500HP)

    Your background

    • Associate's Degree with minimum 2 years experience OR Bachelor's Degree with minimum 0-2 years experience
    • Basic computer skills required: (Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Preferred Experience Includes: Experience with Variable Speed Drives - Knowledge in the use of electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, dynamometers, thermocouples, power meters, transducers, etc.) - Experience in machining, industrial electricity, vibration, airflow, sound levels, IEEE, CSA and UL thermal testing an advantage
    • Must be able to stand for majority of the day, lift up to 50 lbs, work around rotating equipment and electricity, work in a fast paced environment, have good organization, documentation and communication skills.
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
