An experienced Technical Manager to lead a team of engineers, organise and administrate all technical aspects associated with Earthing and Lightening Protection, ensuring that Sales and Marketing obtain maximum support. To promote the introduction and optimization options in the field of powder metallurgy (PM) and additive manufacturing (ALM). Pioneer the technology and spearhead engineering efforts to incorporate PM and ALM technology in the “daily life” of teams.

Your responsibilities

• To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department
• Apply Design for DFM/DFA and FMEA principals to meet project requirements.
• Timeline and Project plan: Responsible for all mechanical design aspects of the equipment, subassemblies, and components.
• Transfer the 3D design part to software to create PM data for mould design (offset for green body part), coordinate parameters from supplier.
• Provide mechanical engineering expertise, while focusing on design quality, reliability, effective cost, and ease of manufacturing.
• Envolve new and innovative methods for product development and design by utilizing PM - technology.
• Partner with manufacturing process engineering teams to identify PM opportunities and complete designs.
• Using PM technology while negotiating tolerances and other capabilities of these technology.
• Work with the PM team (supplier and group) to ensure builds are coordinated with design iterations and that FMEA/DFM/DFA method feedback is provided throughout the development cycle.
• Ensure that all manufacturing processes are compliant with standard design practices and safety codes and ensure appropriate tests are in place to produce reliable products in a repeatable manner, pressing and sintering parameter.
• Prepare presentations and present design concepts, ideas, and test results to internal and external customers.
• Technological support and optimization of pressing tools (lifecycle management) in cooperation with suppliers.
• Technological support of the dry pressing process including powder feed to produce green compacts and the sintering process.
• Support and cooperation with the development team for the optimization of powder metal installation parts (contours, etc.).
• Optimization of the reworking process of pressed green parts / bodies.
• Technological support for a new metal powder production line and the metal powder mixing area to avoid errors and stabilize the process.
• Provide “hands on” assistance and support to the engineering and manufacturing team.

Your background

• Background and experience in additive manufacturing / powder metallurgy
• Mechanical or Materials Engineering qualification Strategic thinking
• A strong leader, able to develop and lead a customer focused team
• Able to work within and contribute to the overall business management team
• Dynamic, open minded and an excellent motivator
• Have good communication and people management skills
• Presentation skills
• A comprehensive knowledge of earthing & lightening protection particularly related to standards and the ability to successfully negotiate/influence overseas national committee members in compiling a mutually beneficial technical standard(s) (Preferred)
