Regional General Manager - Americas, Digital

In this role you will be responsible for delivering and to orchestrating the delivery of Process Automation Process Industries (PAPI) operations activities. You will be responsible to drive profitable growth for the software business of Process Industries through the regional representation of the Global Digital Business Line. Oversee regional operations management of the Business Unit, including Marketing and Sales, Operations (Project engineering & management), Consulting, Services, Supply Chain, Quality and Operational Excellence.

Your responsibilities
- This position is a key member of the BL Digital Leadership Team and will participate in all of monthly management meetings including business team, strategy, new product development and monthly forecast meetings. This position will drive the BL (Business Line) Digital strategic initiatives for their region
- Financials: Manage P&L (Profit and Loss) and take action to drive profit objectives, forecast sales and pipeline effectively
- Strategy: Implements the Global Business Unit strategy in the countries within the area of responsibility. Provides input to Global Business Unit strategy. Establish sales and marketing strategies for annual strategic plan process
- Targets: Ensures achievement of established targets through regular oversight and definition of improvement actions as needed
- Delivers operational/project targets to ensure customer satisfaction and improve net promoter score (NPS). Oversight of Local Business Units in other countries within the Region
- Marketing and Sales: Oversees all marketing and sales activities within the local & regional units. Works very closely with other Business Line management and front end sales / account managers as well indirect sales
- Project Operations: Leads and manages the overall project operations for the region as allocated by the Business Unit and implements local / regionals plans to achieve targets. Improves project execution technology and competence in line with Business Unit strategy
- Supply Chain Management (SCM): Executes the sourcing strategy in line with Business Unit strategy and processes. Manages all regional SCM requirements to meet targets
- Quality and Operational Excellence: Executes Business Unit operational excellence strategy and quality standards. Drives executional excellence across all products/projects/services and processes through target setting, monitoring and benchmarking for innovative processes. Maintains compliance with quality standards and develops systems for capturing, monitoring and improving day to day operations. Drives productivity, delivery performance and cost optimization
- Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Integrity: Implements HSE and business compliance standards and regulations within the units Ensures a safe working environment, continuous HSE improvement process and integrity performance. Personally lives the ABB values and Group standards
- Collaboration: Benchmark other ABB business best practices to drive harmony and deliver the fastest to implement and most effective sales processes and structures. Drive connectivity with the rest of the organization on implementation and adoption of common initiatives and practices. Drive product readiness for the Digital portfolio through stakeholder engagement and great PCP coordination
- Risk: Ensure use of standard tools and processes and reporting to relevant internal partner teams. Responsible for identifying and managing risks relating to contract management, competitive positioning and prices across customers/channels
- Standards and Governance: Implements and ensures compliance with global and local standards, rules, tools, policies and processes related to operations/project execution. Shares functional best practices and lessons learned across the organization
- People leadership and development: Find ways to drive all strategic initiatives and manage the multiple stakeholders. Matrix management will be a key skill required. Drive and ensure know how sharing and cross collaboration. Aid in managing change management, new process rollouts and associated training
Your background
- Degree in Engineering (or equivalent area of study or experience); MBA is a plus
- Multi discipline background in the manufacturing / industrial software industry including experience in sales, marketing, project operations and technical in adjacent industries within global and/or complex organization and minimum 10 years of experience
- Achieve software orders, revenue (including recurring) and operating profit targets through leadership of sales, consulting, project operations and service
- Both process and detail oriented, able to drive standardization
- Excellent presentation skills demonstrated through succinct communication
- High say/do ratio, self drive, credibility and energy with a high level of confidence
- Advanced problem solving and project management skills
- Proven ability to design and execute change management strategies from scratch and drive them to success
- Personal leadership with high accountability, results orientation and ability to work in indirect and virtual teams
- Team player with outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Global mind set and inter cultural sensitivity
