    Serving as the key partner for the Business Unit Manager of the Process Automation Measurement & Analytics (PAMA), you will be a vital member of its finance team in Houston, Texas. You will help to set business strategy in line with wider division and product group strategies. Working within the Instrumentation Business Line of the PAMA Division, you will act as a business partner to the Americas Sales Manager and the Americas Service Manager and their management teams to drive and execute the strategy according to the business model and optimize financial performance within the Sales, Service and complete P&L responsibility Americas Region countries. It is important to work closely with business understanding the markets, customer landscape, product portfolio and finance requirements. Reporting to the Instrumentation Sales and Service Controller, you will provide financial reporting and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators​) for the PGs (Product Groups) and monitor progress achieved, provide insight and analysis to support operational decision making and improve performance & drive for profitable growth of America Region (US, Canada, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Panama, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico).

    Your responsibilities

    • Strategy: Serve as the key partner for the Region Sales & Service Manager in determining Region & Local Division strategy, aligning with BL (Business Line) strategy, implementing, and making adjustments in implementation as needed. Maintains constant contact with Region Sales & Service Manager regarding financial, market and customer situation and outlook
    • Business Planning: Oversees the business planning process in the Local Division and serves as the interface to BL GPG Controller/ Global Instrumentation Sales & Service Controller of PAMA. Evaluates financial implications of various business decisions and recommends actions
    • Business Performance: Contributes to definition of key performance indicators, identifies issues and advises management on action plans and operational strategies to resolve. Drives for appropriate cost structure, productivity optimization and capital efficiency
    • Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensures transparency in financial reporting and disclosures. Defines and implements internal controls regarding financial and non financial operations. Ensures proper internal control and check points and review of CARs (Corrective Action Report​) in each of the countries of America Regions, proper assurance process local and region to avoid any deficiency in the documentation and process. Supports internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations (if any) on priority
    • Financial Reporting: Ensures financial reporting management in accordance with defined quality standards and required ABACUS (Asea Brown Boveri Accounting and Communication System) closing schedules. Oversees all local Division & Regional financial reporting business planning, budgeting and forecasting for each of PG Instrumentation Sales & Service
    • Optimization: Work with internal control team as to streamlining the process to ensure that our internal control is operating effectively. Reduce complexity in the end to end process
    • Cashflow & NWC (Net Working Capital): Manages and closely monitors the Local Division & Regional cashflow and takes action to improve Net Working Capital management for each of PG of Instrumentation Sales & Service
    • Risk Management: Assesses business risk exposure and defines risk mitigation strategies to reduce impact on Local Division & Regional performance for respective BL. Executes global risk review procedures and processes to minimize financial risk and exposure
    • Contract and Proposal Review: Reviews orders and contract specifics to verify accuracy versus proposal and/or standards
    • Advises on financial and commercial aspects of proposals, contractual terms and conditions, risk reviews, contract structuring, tax issues, cashflow analysis, assignment conditions, and other relevant issues. Reviews and approves full cost model and price lists which ever applicable and comply Global Risk Review guideline
    • Internal Stakeholders: Ensures timely and efficient communication with Global Instrumentation Sales & Service Manager, Global Instrumentation Sales & Service Controller, Global BL Controlling, Global Division Controlling, GBS, COE Team, Accounting Center, and other internal customers to identify and discuss issues for improvement of operations, work quality and efficiency of the Local Division & Region of Instrumentation BL of PAMA
    • Ensures (with Manager support) that the area of responsibility is organized, staffed, and properly skilled. Striving to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the team. Guides motivates and develops direct/indirect subordinates within HR policies

    Your background

    • Candidate must have educational qualification Chartered Accountant/Cost Accountant/CPA/CMA/Master degree in Accounting/Finance-related professional qualification and 8 - 10 years of experience in key finance areas of expertise including operational finance, sales and service, financial planning, and analysis, and/or other relevant finance areas
    • Strong commercial & business acumen
    • Prior experience working effectively with remote work groups including Center of Excellence teams, cross Business/ Regions and Global Business Services teams
    • Proven ability to problem-solve using structured approach
    • Highly proactive and result driven attitude with the ability to influence, communicate and network in a complex international matrixed organization
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
