In our development center in Turgi, we develop powerful and reliable platform SW for our power electronic controller. The controller is used in various power electronic applications, e.g. converters for traction applications or excitation systems. In your capacity as senior SW developer, you will program, test and design on all layers of the OSI model, to ensure a stable and reliable platform for the application developers. We are looking for a technically experienced embedded SW developer, preferably on senior level, who is open-minded, customer-oriented and innovative. You should be a team player who collaborates across organizational levels in an intercultural environment in an agile setup. It’s time to rewrite your future – welcome to ABB!
This position reports to
R&D Team Lead
Your responsibilities
- Create software concepts, conduct detailed studies, analyse requirements and outline software specifications
- Review software design and architecture, including documentation, as well as programming and testing
- Analysis and further refinement of requirements together with the team
- Handle software configuration management and build processes. Furthermore, prepare test, release and user documentation
- Participation in an agile Scrum setup
- In this context perform all the steps to get a successful piece of working software: Design, Implementation, Test
- Establish and maintain development and test environments as well as evaluate and select suitable development tools, programming languages and operating systems
- Maintain existing software and conduct experiments and system measurements in the lab
Your background
- Solid degree in computer science, electrical engineering or electronics
- Excellence software engineering skills including software design and architecture
- Proficient in programming in C and C++ (C# and .Net is an advantage)
- Excellent OOP/OOD skills and focus on quality of produced code
- Experience in working with Linux based system, preferably Real Time Linux and experience of solution design and knowledge of UML diagrams
- Strong analysis and complex problem-solving skills
- Fluent in English, German advantageous
