Senior Engineer - Embedded Systems

You will be working as Senior Engineer - Embedded Systems and will be part of Motion business area for Traction division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to R&D Team Lead and will be responsible for developing and testing of applications/product software as per the product requirement specifications. You will be reviewing the applications developed by software engineers and ensures they meet required project standards.

Your responsibilities

• Understanding the product development requirements and performing software-focused development activities on system/product projects, including design, coding and unit testing, functional testing of software modules in line with the quality requirements
• Developing new and adapted design of software modules, system setups, system integration and using agile practices to in ensuring quality during development and testing
• Supporting the senior engineers in the implementation and designing documents and ensuring software solutions integrating into the systems solution to meet the functional design specifications
• Creating and executing the unit level test descriptions for the scope of project being executed and based on the impact analysis conducted, in consultation with the architect and team, arrive at a solution for the identified defects which creates and executes functional tests that can be done in a functional test setup
• Resolving customer specific issues/complaints received for assigned products as per the agreement with the L3 and L4 technical support teams
• Ensuring the adherence of defined configuration management guidelines, plans and performing release and build management activities, generating new ideas and participating in seminars and technical conferences

Your background

• Master’s in engineering with 3 years’ experience in software application/product design and development with understanding of software development life cycle process and tools
• 4 to 6 years’ experience in Embedded Software development
• Experience of testing Embedded products in Industrial applications
• Good working knowledge of Matlab Simulink and working in Agile teams would be an added advantage
