Senior Field Service Engineer (Marine)

Your responsibilities
- Senior Field Service Engineer (Marine) positions offered by ABB Inc. (Miramar, FL). Marine engineer charged with conducting complex field technical assignments with minimal professional guidance involving installing, commissioning, modifying, testing, inspecting and repairing ABB marine products and equipment, including both low and medium voltage (6.6kV and 11kV) switchgears and protection relays and programming. Read and interpret marine engineering drawings and schematics, both electrical and mechanic, and troubleshoot and repair failed marine equipment. Ensure ABB meets customer commitments and expectations and recommend measures to improve operations and customer service. Represent company at conferences and meetings with customers. Prepare and provide input for technical documents such as specifications, quotations, procedures, or technical reports.
Your background
- Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in marine engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related engineering field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years of experience applying, maintaining and repairing marine power generation, variable frequency drives, protection relays, circuit breakers, and switchgears with a focus on power generation and distribution. Also requires 3 years of experience: installing marine automation or marine power distribution systems for marine and offshore applications and operations; and applying IEC protocols in compliance with safety requirements. Requires 2 years of experience designing electrical and mechanical components utilizing computer aided design software (CAD). Up to 75% travel (domestic and international and includes weekends and holidays) required. Employee reports to 11600 Miramar Parkway, Suite 100, Miramar, FL 33025, but may telecommute from any location within the U.S. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
