We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with focus on development of embedded software used in safety-critical applications (IEC 61508) within the field of programmable logic controllers (PLC). This position reports to

R&D Global Unit Lead

Your responsibilities

• Development of embedded software for safety-critical applications (IEC 61508) in the field of programmable logic controllers (PLC)
• Oversee full range of activities relating to software engineering, including requirement analysis, specification of architecture and design, implementation, drawing up and performing unit test procedures for module testing, etc.
• Prepare project and product documentation for internal purpose and for certification activities
• Provide professional support during testing by submitting reviews and specifications, as well as assisting Firmware/Software teams with validation and verification
• Troubleshooting and maintenance of existing products as well as new developments of products

Your background

• Technical Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a comparable qualification
• First years of professional experience in development of software for safety critical applications or alternatively several years in software development
• Knowledge in the field of functional safety, e.g. according to IEC 61508, ISO 13849-1, IEC 62061 is highly desirable
• Automation technology knowledge is an advantage
• Competence in firmware development processes and firmware engineering (V-model)
• Profound knowledge in programming languages C, C ++; Modeling language UML
• Fieldbus-standards knowledge (e.g. PROFIBUS, PROFINET, PROFIsafe, etc.) is highly desirable
• Good communication skills in German and English
• Good social skills, teamwork spirit, and ability to work in teams
