    (Senior) R&D Control SW Engineer (80-100%)

    In our development center in Turgi, we develop powerful and reliable power electronics converters and traction batteries which are used in electromobility and in the rolling stock industry. In this position, you will contribute ideas for innovative technology developments and solutions in control, protection, and observation of such systems.

    Your responsibilities

    • Designing reliable real-time control software for traction converters used in the rail industry
    • Overseeing all stages of R&D, ranging from feasibility studies and simulations to implementation and testing
    • Carry out final commissioning of pilot applications on board of locomotives, busses, and train sets
    • Provide professional technical support to the product management and to internal and external customers

    Your background

    • A MSc or PhD in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or robotics
    • Passion for dynamic control theory as well as experience in closed-loop control systems
    • Solid understanding of power electronics, motor physics, and energy systems
    • Well-structured approach with the ability to work in close cooperation with others
    • High level of proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, ideally complemented by experience with real-time targets and embedded software
    • Knowledge of Software architecture
    • A solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
    • Fluent in English, other languages such as German are an advantage
