    (Senior) R&D Engineer (f/m/d) Embedded Systems

    In this position, you will contribute ideas for innovative technology developments and solutions, working to solve industrial problems. Reporting to the R&D Manager Electronic Development, you will contribute creative ideas to R&D projects, as well as proposing follow-up projects and activities based on new ideas.

    Your responsibilities

    • You design and implement firmware architectures for Industry 4.0 smart monitoring devices, full stack
    • You take accountability for the software deliverables to meet all requirements of quality, scalability, modifiability, extensibility, testability etc. You will help establish effective and agile engineering prac-tices across our engineering team
    • You program embedded devices for monitoring of three-phase electrical systems, ranging from bare-metal development to RTOS-context
    • You collaborate in working teams, disseminate technical/scientific knowledge in projects, and assist colleagues in applying processes and tools
    • You take responsibility for firmware development projects, as senior project member or as project leader
    • You find new ways of solving problems by following own ideas, creating hypotheses, and defining ways to validate them. You identify opportunities and propose R&D activities accordingly

    Your background

    • Degree in applied computer science, electrical engineering, or comparable program, with profound on-the-job experience, ideally in the above domains
    • Proficiency in C/C++ backed by solid computer science fundamentals
    • You understand that software development is a collaborative effort. You are caring and kind with your colleagues, and they work better when they work with you
    • Confident handling of development infrastructure: version control systems, lifecycle management, build systems, unit testing, debug probes, logic analyzers and similar tools
    • Solid knowledge in structured development processes, ranging from requirement analysis, design and implementation to test and documentation
    • Experience in Arm architecture and standard interfaces, bare-metal programming, bootloader, firm-ware
    • Knowledge of field bus communication protocols (Profinet/EthernetIP/Ethercat)
    • Bash-, and python-scripting experience desirable
    • Self-reliant attitude to work, initiative and organizing ability
    • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential; German language skills are beneficial
