This is a Senior Scientist role, reporting to the Research Department Manager at India Corporate Research Center (INCRC), located in Bangalore. INCRC is co-located with ABB’s largest global software development and engineering units and currently operating in hybrid work model. Your responsibilities

• Use cases and requirements gathering in cooperation with ABB’s business divisions and end customers.
• Researching software engineering approaches for the end-to-end life cycle phases of machine learning enabled systems for Industrial Process Automation business.
• Identifying multiple design choices and evaluating architectural solutions with design rationale.
• Developing proof of concepts, prototypes, and supporting pilot evaluation and productization of solutions.
• Communicating project results to experts and non-expert audiences.
• Creating Intellectual Property (Invention Disclosures) and publishing in scientific conferences and journals.

Your background

• Ph.D./M.Tech/M.S. from a reputed University in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Systems Engineering with a good publication record.
• Required 2 to 7 years of experience with Ph.D. or 5 to 10 years of experience with Master’s degree.
• Experience in Software Architecture, Design and Engineering.
• Experience in the usage of Statistical Analysis and Machine Learning for the development of software system solutions is optional.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, C/C++, or C#) and design of algorithms.
• Exposure to design and implementation of modular industrial systems is preferred.
• Should have ability to communicate effectively in English with internal and external partners including academic community.
