For the traction and energy storage technology business in Turgi, Switzerland, we are currently looking for a high-caliber individual to join our motivated System Engineering Team. We are a powerful team designing advanced and sustainable propulsion and auxiliary systems including the integration into vehicles. We translate customer requirements into valuable solutions, support international projects with our technical expertise and collaborate closely with other ABB teams, e.g. product management, to promote an entire product life cycle. Your responsibilities

• Engineering of traction systems, energy storage systems and auxiliary systems with integration into the vehicle
• Provide support for product management during concept and proposal stages
• Oversee management of international customer projects at a technical level
• Analyze and clarify customer requirements
• Draw up specifications for system components and liaise with suppliers to discuss technical details
• Verify and validate systems/products in the laboratory and/ or field
• Provide professional input with regards to system design

Your background

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar qualifications
• Proven track record in the field of power electronics and drive systems for rail vehicles
• Ability to fast absorb expertise in the development of ESS with Li-Ion batteries for traction applications
• Independent, structured, and goal-focused approach to work
• Well-developed communication skills and team spirit
• Willingness to travel as part of occasional business assignments
• Fluency in written and spoken English. German is a plus, other language skills are a plus
