    Senior Test Engineer

    You will be working as Senior Test Engineer and will be the part of Electrification business area for Distribution Solutions division based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Testing Manager I and will be responsible for maintaining good engineering practices to ensure growth within the team

    Your responsibilities

    • Testing of ZS1 Switchgear as per IEC Standards
    • Testing of ZS9 Switchgear as per IEC Standards
    • Testing of Safe Plus Switchgear as per IEC Standards
    • Testing of RMU and BMU Units as per IEC Standards
    • Testing LV Switchgear as per IEC standards
    • Testing Protection relays and testing Protection Relay Logics (ABB, Siemens, SEL…)
    • Presenting Tested Board to the Customer
    • Preparing Paperwork for End of Job Documentation
    • Assisting the Manager to Lead the Test Team in Technical Knowledge and Test Practices.
    • Assist Manager with Procedure updating and best Testing practices

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
    • Knowledge of testing procedures of various test equipment
    • Good understanding of Engineering practices (IEC Standards)
    • Computer skills of various testing software, word, excel and power point
    • Knowledge of ABB switchgear products (Protection Relays, Breakers, Voltage Transformers and Current transformers
    • Good Understanding of Electrical Drawings, faultfinding and problem solving of switchgear philosophies and good knowledge of protection settings and logics of various manufacturers
    • Fluency in English language is mandatory
