Service Sales Specialist

You will be working as Service Sales Specialist and will be the part of Motion business area for Services division based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Service Sales Manager and will be responsible to drive service sales pipeline in collaboration with the service sales manager and/or local division manager, generate service sales opportunities and secure profitable sales within the designated area(s), focus on installed base penetration (IB) and sell the entire service product portfolio for drives and motors in collaboration with other ABB units and build long term customer relationships and ensure immediate response to specific customer needs and issues
Your responsibilities
- In collaboration with the service sales manager and/or service manager implements service sales strategy, penetrates IB, promotes various upgrade, retrofit and value add solutions to the benefit of the customer and ABB, understands the channel strategy and the establishment of related prices and prepares sales plans, reviews them and proposes recovery plan(s) when needed, regularly updates installed base in ServIS (the approved Service database) with the changes made at site
- Utilizes ServIS/DIB/LCA tools to penetrate the existing installed base (IB) and identify and develop sales opportunities for service portfolio and solutions to penetrate the existing IBs in the market and focuses on the entire service portfolio to secure profitable service sales for motion services division
- Generates service sales leads and develops new market opportunities by utilizing market trend information, identifying and exploring potential new service portfolios and collaborative approach to leverage opportunities from total portfolio offering, communicates contract details in accordance with ABB offering and strategy and manages administrative sales processes
- Establishes long term customer relationships by active listening, understanding customer requirements and value selling approach and demonstrating in-depth technical service portfolio/solutions knowledge to promote Life Cycle Management (LCM) and registers customer feedback and ensures customer satisfaction throughout the sales process
- Sells entire service product portfolio to expand ABB footprint in the designated area(s), charts out and monitors sales proposals, tenders and follows up on sales pipeline, prepares ABB’s service offerings based on customer need and in coordination with the local service sales manager and/or local division manager
- Acts as a marketer/salesperson of ABB’s service portfolio and solutions during marketing activities (trade fairs, exhibitions, conferences, customer meetings) and translates the needs of customer into relevant ABB Service offerings and solutions
- Contributes to risk assessments related to price and quality, registers required information into the appropriate customer database, ensures technical reliability, safety and cost-effective solutions to satisfy customer’s needs and complies with health and safety directives
Your background
- Diploma or degree in electrical engineering and marketing qualification advantageous
- Experience in service sales 5 years plus
- Proven track record in service sales
- Industry experience in service sales and or solution/value selling
- Good communication and people skills
- Fluency in English language is mandatory
