As a Service Technician II, you will be responsible for working with customers to ensure our products and systems provide maximum performance, our Service teams solve a wide variety of key industrial challenges. We increase productivity and reliability, lengthen product life span, and improve safety. Critically, we also reduce costs, energy consumption and emissions. Under the direct supervision and instruction of a Level III or IV technician, the Level II technician will work on the addition or removal of wiring and connections on non-working DC power equipment as well as energized DC power equipment.

    Your responsibilities

    • Addition or removal of telecommunication equipment hardware
    • Addition or removal of wiring and connections
    • On-time completion and quality of the installation project
    • Support job package administration including weekly tool inventory and creation of daily timesheet
    • Responsible for inventory and staging of equipment and materials, weekly status report to supervisor, reading and interpreting specifications and drawings
    • Assist Level IV & III Technicians on:
    • Lead verification (voltage)
    • Adding or removing telecom batteries
    • Adding or removing common systems equipment hardware
    • Comply with all Health & Safety as well as regulatory guidelines

    Your background

    • High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience in electrical or telecommunication installation activities
    • Valid driver's license
    • Strong Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook / Excel / Word
    • Ability and willingness to travel 75% of the time
    • Ability and willingness to work varying shifts (swing shifts)
    • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
    • Ability to operate motorized lift equipment to maneuver, install or remove 80-750 lb. batteries
    • Frequently pushing or pulling of cables up to 60 lbs.
    • Frequently climbing ladders up to 8 ft.
    • Frequently working/standing on ladders for long periods of time
    • Continuous standing
    • Frequently reaching above, below or at shoulder level
    • Frequently bending, twisting, or stooping
    • Frequently crouching or squatting
    • Be exposed to varying environments with moderate noise levels, nominal variations in heat and cold
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
