    Shift Manager

    The Shift Manager, will be responsible for safe operations, operating within the quality specifications of the company and meeting production standards and goals for the Motion Business Area in Columbus, MS. Ensure positive communications with area production supervisors, and the hourly production employees. Create a fair and consistent employee relations environment and lead by example.

    Your responsibilities

    • Ensure a safe working environment while driving continuous improvement in all areas of the shift. Create and sustain a clean, safe working environment that meets world class standards.
    • Deliver operational/project targets (e.g. COTD (Complete and On Time Delivery), lead time, quality, etc.) to meet plant and area goals working closely with area and production managers.
    • Provide positive leadership by creating and maintaining a high morale, union free workplace. Involve employees by listening, communicating and follow up.
    • Drive quality improvement and continued improvements in productivity, delivery performance and cost optimization by supporting all inventory, cost reduction objectives, and lean projects.
    • Help create a highly flexible and skilled workforce. Assist in development of plant budgets, forecasts, annual plans, etc.

    Your background

    • Bachelors Degree and minimum 5 years experience OR Associates Degree and minimum 7 years experience OR High School Diploma / GED and minimum 9 years experience.
    • Previous Supervisory and/or Managerial experience in a Manufacturing Environment - Highly desired.
    • SAP, Kronos, Microsoft Office Products - Highly desired.
    • Lean Flex Flow Certification and BUS (Baldor Unified System) experience - Preferred.
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
