    Shipping & Logistics Coordinator

    Assisting the business function and/or Business Excellence Centers, as a Shipping & Logistics Coordinator, you will ensure that goods are shipped while meeting quality, legal and costs parameters. In this role you will be managing incoming and outgoing national and international shipping logistics for cargo transportation carriers and shipping companies. The ideal candidate would be responsible for planning, coordination and monitoring of customer’s shipments while ensuring they move along seamlessly through the work process established by the company. Managing communication with suppliers, shippers, consignees, steamship lines, airlines, freight forwarders, trucking companies and internal logistics department to ensure shipments are processed in a timely manner in compliance with US Customs and regulations.

    Your responsibilities

    • Lead all SL (Service Level) activities with internal and external suppliers and factories for project deliveries. Act as interface between factory shipping and logistics groups, project manager and the client, ensuring that project information is adequately shared between the project team and various stakeholders, as needed
    • Coordinate and ensure all shipping due diligence and paperwork is prepared and complete, including customs requirements, in preparation for shipping of equipment or customer pick up
    • Serve as liaison between factories, storage facilities and client, ensuring all equipment is properly handled, stored, packaged and delivered to the end user
    • Developing enduring faithful internal and external relationships
    • Driving effective communication across the regional businesses and functions
    • Maintain close contact with customers and project participants to identify and resolve shipping, transportation and/or storage challenges of mutual concern and to seek opportunities for efficiencies and improvements related to shipping and storage logistics
    • Manage shipping risks to avoid incurring penalties, warranty repairs or other charges that may have substantial financial impact
    • Provide technical direction and advise to project/program manager
    • Understanding international requirements in all aspects including documentation, taxes or levies impose that could cause impacts to meeting delivery dates
    • Drive, mitigate and engage in risk mitigation to assure vendor compliances and commitments
    • Create out of the box thinking to pursue the development of digital tools and/or dashboards to help drive repeatability, accuracy and performance for end to end shipping and logistics

    Your background

    • Bachelors degree in Logistics and minimum 5 years of experience in operational and/or customer facing commercial roles
    • Minimum 3 years of previous experience preferred
    • Proven capability in working in a technical environment (electrical distribution sector)
    • Proven international shipping and logistics experience
    • Strong and proven strategical abilities pertaining to shipping and logistics tasks
    • Qualities of proven relationship building capabilities
    • Proven soft skills with problem solving aptitude
    • Availability to travel 10 percent
    • Other languages (Spanish) are an attribute
    • Available to travel at short notice
    • Has a customer centric behavior and can deal with complex customers and meet specific requirements when needed. Strives for achieving the Project goals and Customer satisfaction
    • Has a passion for the work "well done first time", intellectual rigor and professional discipline
    • Strong team player
    • Strong interpersonal skills are required to achieve cooperation and help drive proper process with supplier partners. Ability to work well within a team environment to support complex projects Multitasking and being able to prioritize tasks is essential. Experience with Logistics, US customs and regulations is required. Clear communicator, proactive problem solver who can engage across different functions and parties desired. Errors typically result in delays, inefficient use of resources, and may impact customer relations
