As a Software Deployment Engineer, you’ll support the product development of our Terra™ fast charging equipment as key team member of our EV Charging Infrastructure Product Group by performing software deployments to chargers in the field. This position reports to

Director, R&D/Technology

Your responsibilities

• Plan and deploy new software releases and patches to chargers operating at customers networks
• Diagnose deployment issues, address them, and propose improvements
• Manage and improve charger software installers taking into the account external input and own the feedback from deployments
• Optimize deployment process and installations to reduce time it takes to deploy
• Collaborate closely with software engineers both locally and globally to improve reliability of installation process
• Create and present deployment reports to internal and external stakeholders

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Systems & Control, or related field is required with a minimum of 2 years of experience in software development/software deployment on Linux platform
• Master’s degree, and/or direct industry knowledge of electric vehicle charging, a plus
• Experience in creating scripts in Python and Linux shell scripts required
• Flexibility in work hours to accommodate designated by customers’ maintenance window for deployments
• Experience with Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps a plus
• Strong analytical skills required, with an inquisitive engineering problem solving mindset
• English language speaking, reading and writing proficiency is required
• Should be very comfortable working in a highly collaborative, global team environment, within an R&D Test Lab facility
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally required (approximately 10-20%)
• Salary Range for the position: 90K to 110K
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
• International Relocation is not available for this position
