As an Embedded Software Test Engineer, you’ll support the product development of our Terra™ fast charging equipment as key team member of our EV Charging Infrastructure Product Group by performing tests of new features and conducting regression testing to ensure system functional requirements and standards are fully met. This position reports to

Director, Global R&D/Technology, E-mobility NAM

Your responsibilities

• Perform regression testing of new and existing features and product enhancements, ensuring the satisfaction of functional requirements and interoperability compatibility
• Support the automation of the testing process and the execution of product functionality tests
• Write test plans and document test cases
• Collaborate closely with test engineers both locally and globally
• Responsible for reporting and presenting test results and providing input to our product development team

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Systems & Control, or related field is required with a minimum of 2 years of experience as an embedded test engineer or software test engineer
• Master’s degree, and/or direct industry knowledge of electric vehicle charging, a plus
• Must have experience writing test plans and test cases
• Experience with test automation in Python and Linux shell scripts required
• Experience with Robot Framework and Azure DevOps a plus
• Strong analytical skills required, with an inquisitive engineering problem solving mindset
• English language speaking, reading and writing proficiency is required
• Should be very comfortable working in a highly collaborative, global team environment, within an R&D Test Lab facility
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally required (approximately 10-20%)
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
• International Relocation is not available for this position
