    The Robotics and Discrete Automation division supplies products, solutions and services to increase productivity and ergonomics. ABB Robotics is a pioneer and one of the leading global industrial robotics companies and has the widest global footprint of any robotics company with presence in 53 countries. As part of the 2020 strategy, ABB Robotics ventured in to a new area of robotics, outside the traditional manufacturing segments. We call this Service Robotics and within this business, our vision is to become the global leader in robotic products and solutions for the non-manufacturing markets such as intralogistics, healthcare and retail. The European Application Center (formerly Intrion) for Service Robotics is located in Huizingen, Belgium and specializes in robot-centric automation solutions for e-commerce, retail, fresh food, non-food and express parcel segments. Our portfolio ranges from robotic products to modular cells, engineered turnkey solutions and lifecycle management services. This role will support the Sales organization and lead the proposal process by preparing technical descriptions of the solution, determining costs, preparing final documentation, and serving as a key technical resource in the assigned area.

    Your responsibilities

    • Responsible to create and complete winning proposals, estimations or quotations based on customer requirements;
    • Perform analytic and diagnostic studies to determine most suitable technical solution to meet customer needs;
    • Work out and prepare technical descriptions of the identified solution and material which will be included in the commercial offer;
    • Responsible for the cost calculation of our commercial proposals;
    • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations for both internal staff and customers during technical meetings, product presentations and negotiations;
    • Participate in the kick off meeting organized by the project team;
    • Knowledgeable on cutting-edge technologies and logistics trends;
    • Willing to travel 20% of your time for short business trips in Europe;

    Your background

    • Engineering degree;
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in automation project design, preferably in a logistics environment;
    • Knowledge of low (plc/robotics) and high level (WCS/MFC/Scada/database) controls;
    • Able to develop creative and innovating ideas and solutions to meet customer expectations;
    • Detail orientated person with good analytical and problem-solving skills;
    • Able to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders in ways that promote beneficial working relationships;
    • Commercial flair to identify business opportunities for the organization;
    • Willing to travel 20% of your time for short business trips in Europe;
    • Team player with very good communication skills (oral and written) in Dutch or French and English.
