Specialist (m/f/d) in contract law with focus on export control

As a specialist (m/f/d) in contract law with a focus on export control, you will be involved in commercial contract drafting and commenting on customer tenders, inquiries and orders, and you will carry out the necessary foreign trade audits. You will report to the Contract Management and Export Control department of the Distribution Solutions business unit.

Your responsibilities
- Commercial contract drafting and commenting with assessment of contract risks and risk presentation to supplier plants
- Active participation in commercially relevant contract negotiations in cooperation with the sales unit
- Compliance with export regulations according to the legislation of the European Union, the national foreign trade law, and, if applicable, further legislation with extraterritorial effect (e.g. US (re-)export control)
- Review and professional assessment of sensitive transactions with regard to export control risks and preparation of related decisions of export control administrators (e.g. critical assessment) depending on sensitivity
- Ensuring the implementation of the ABB Trade Compliance Program and its internal guidelines in the local business unit
- Administrative activities, such as maintenance of contract and export control related topics in quotation tools and databases
- Performing manual and SAP GTS supported sanctions list, business partner, country and product checks as a basis for decision making for the export control administration
- Input of contract and foreign trade law information into the ABB risk management database in preparation for the risk review process
- Obtaining of credit information and evaluations by the credit insurer as a basis for decision-making for the determination of the customer credit limit
- Support of project management in claim management
Your background
- Successfully completed bachelor's or master's degree in the field of business law, alternatively successfully completed training, e.g. as an industrial clerk or foreign trade clerk with at least 3 years of professional experience in the field of customs and export control as well as contract law.
- Sound knowledge of (inter)national law and public commercial law
- Experience in foreign trade law and SAP-GTS knowledge
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Economic understanding, strategic thinking and empathy
