T & Q Lead Engineer - Electrical

This is a T & Q Lead Engineer - Electrical role, reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager in Business Area - India Operations Centre, Process Automation (INOPC PA) based in Bangalore, India. You will be primarily responsible to work closely with the ABB LD /INOPC sales support management to deliver Innovative Plant Electrification Solution in line with customer requirement and biding strategy. This role involves hands on work and leading the Plant Electrification technical solution team to deliver the technical & commercial solution for Energy Industries customer.

Your responsibilities

• Lead / be team player in high performing Electrification solution team, manage productivity, drive standardization, delivery quality & competitive solution
• Participating in bidding strategy, cost optimization, technical solution innovation, support project handover
• Managing timely Technical & Commercial offer delivery, monitoring quality of bids and driving productivity
• Delivering the Technical solution for Electrification of Green field and Brownfield Energy Industries customer
• Evaluating the various E-House Structural Vendors for the project specific optimized Techno- Commercial solutions
• Driving the E-House Pre-Bid Engineering solutions to arrive at optimum E-House Layouts, and HVAC, HV, MV, LV, UPS, F&G, HVAC, Drive systems for E House application
• Driving cross functional communication across various stakeholders to achieve common Bid objectives
• Understanding the various International Standard/ statutory requirement like IEC / ANSI/ ABS/UL.
• Cost calculation & Ownership of commercial offer delivery
• Digital Solution (Condition Monitoring, Partial discharge etc)
• Close interaction with Sales Solution principle team of Asia Hub PG for smooth deliverable and continuous improvement.
• Ensure adhering to business governance and procedure

Your background

• BE or B. Tech Degree ideally focused on Electrical / Electronics /Control
• Ideally 8+ years’ experience within the Energy industry but not essential
• Previous engineering experience for Electrical System, Electrical distribution network
• Knowledge and experience of Power System Study and ideas for optimization of Electrical network
• Experience in Basic and Detailed Engineering of MV Switchgear (up to 33 KV Both AIS and GIS), LV switchgear, Transformers, Bus ducts, APFC, Cable system engineering, Earthing, Lightning, protection, Illumination systems and Lay out Engineering
• Design and development of SLD including Protection and control systems knowledge of Power system studies is preferable
• Developing Vendor specifications of equipment’s for Bid support and Engineering also essential
• Basic knowledge in tools and software’s such Autocad, E3 and Eplan
• Good knowledge of Electrical Products (Switchgear, Transformer, VFD, Control & Protection equipment Power Quality equipment, IS Limiter, DC/UPS etc)
• Knowledge of High Voltage product (220 kV, 132 kV, 66 kV etc. and CRP) added advantage
• Knowledge of Offshore / On-shore requirements including offshore class rules like ABS, DNV and market demand / requirement
• Experience of bidding international projects
