    Technical Consulting Electrical Engineer

    Working as a Technical Consulting Electrical Engineer, you will be the authority/support person for various engineering projects in Electrification Service (ELSE) providing technical design details for the maintaining and/or upgrade of customer electrical systems. These systems include switchgear and motor control center power and control components. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be part of a team and responsible for power engineering and control system design. This position will include all aspects of a project including creating and reading electrical diagrams, programming control systems, testing procedures and start up.

    Your responsibilities

    • Work as part of an integrated design team to meet project requirements and deliverables
    • Work with Customer to understand details of the equipment to be provided
    • Design testing procedures of the control schemes to match equipment provided
    • Provide and/or approve shop drawings for the manufacture of products
    • Update systems from legacy to modern products

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology and 2 or more years of experience, or equivalent school and/or work experience
    • Knowledge and/or experience in electrical design application software and/or CAD (Autodesk, Solidworks, Ladder Logic) preferred but not required
    • Proficient in standard workstation tools: Microsoft® Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint®)
    • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and work with diverse discipline project teams
    • Ability to learn new methods and technologies
    • Attention to detail
    • Candidate must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
    • Position will be based in Florence, SC

    • PLC replacement and programming
    • Electrical Power System Analysis
    • Protection Relay Applications
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
