    You will be working as a Technical & Design Promotion Specialist - Smart Building and will be the part of Electrification Business Area Smart Buildings Solutions Industries division based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Sales/Sector Manager-Trans & Infra and will be responsible to plan and implement proactive promotional activities for the assigned target audience (consultants, design institutes, engineering/architect offices, authorities, etc.). In order to create market demand and need for the features/products. Build long term customer relationships, identify and develop sales opportunities by introducing, presenting and educating the target audience about ABB products and tools

    Your responsibilities

    • Implement proactive promotional activities for the customer target group, including e.g. technical presentations, demonstrations, seminars and education material
    • Establish and maintain effective long-term relationships with target group customers to understand their current and future needs and to ensure the customer has a good understanding of the full ABB product/systems/services offering, features and benefits
    • Ensure a positive experience for the customer target group throughout the promotion activities
    • Prepare plans for visits and perform regular status reviews, including the analysis and output of the target audience visits
    • Ensure efficient marketing activities and strong value proposition to customers by using effective promotional techniques and communicate details in accordance with ABB offering and strategy Manage and drives education of the target
    • audience by conducting and organizing appropriate training interventions
    • Create a vision of a loyal, committed and long-term customer relationship and implements the necessary action plan and steps to reach the vision
    • Ensure cross-collaboration and continuously develops own and team member’s technical, commercial, design and behavioral competences and know-how
    • Must understand the strengths and weakness of ABB product and how to promote the strengths
    • Responsible to engage with specifiers and ensure that ABB is specified
    • Responsible to find out which channel will be used and ensure we have a close relationship with the channel
    • Engage with the end user where required to ensure that ABB are preferred
    • Engage closely with the product management team at ABB to ensure that the optimal technical solution is presented to the specifier
    • The budget targets must be met and understand technical engineering principals applied for the industry application
    • The opportunities must be kept fully updated in the CRM system
    • Business must be done Ethically with integrity and safely
    • The business processes must be adhered to at all times

    Your background

    • Diploma or S4 or N6 in Electrical Engineering background
    • 5 Years of experience in Business Development or Technical Promotion Specialist
    • Having Experience with LV Electrical Smart Products design and technical Aspects, exposure in Mining, Water and Wastewater or industrial
    • LV Network Discrimination/back up experience & Motor Starting product selection would make you the best fit, software experience and knowledge on LV Network analysis - connected services (Software - SaaS) sales digitally would be an added advantage
    • Having experience in Customer Presentations with the ability to convince high level decision
    • Should have good Communications & presentation skills. Excellent level of English required
