Technical Sales Support Specialist - Controls

In this role, you will be the Subject Matter Expert for Controls & Automation solutions (preferably with ABB 800XA, Symphony Plus or other DCS, SCADA experiences) within the Oil & Gas, Chemicals & Refineries and/or Power & Water segments. Reporting to Commercial Operations Director, you will support the local Sales organization/customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions and prepare technical and commercial proposal of the applied products and technology to support the sales process. Serve as a key technical resource for the Asia region. This position is based at Subang Jaya, Malaysia.

Your responsibilities

• Offers technical advice and provides comment to support in early engagement, conceptual studies, FEED, and on enquiry specifications for customers/Account Managers with regards to ABB’s integrated Electrification, Controls, Telecommunications & Digital (ECTD) solutions.
• Prior experience of providing solutions on ICSS, PCS, DCS, Safety System, ENMCS or PMS is required. Knowledge on interfacing with F&G System, Telecommunication system is a plus
• Working in collaboration with other Application Engineers (AE) within their domain (i.e. Controls, Electrical, Telco, etc.)
• Providing technical support during the technical meeting, product presentations and technical negotiations
• Performing analytic and diagnostic studies to determine most suitable technical solution to meet customer needs by proposing technical solutions for complex enquiries
• Preparing and delivering technical presentations and demonstrations for both internal staff and customers on complex product issues
• Offering product/solution/service-related training and preparing and checking technical articles for publication

Your background

• Engineering degree and 8+ years of expertise in Energy Industry area.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary electrical / automation / Control projects and application is desirable.
• Experience in Asia Pacific customer base – Oil & Gas, and/or Chemical & Refinery Industries.
• International, cross-BU and cross-division experience.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
