    Position summary

    Your role and responsibilities*

    We are seeking a proficient Tender Lead Engineer to oversee the technical aspects of our tender proposals. This individual will be accountable for designed solution design. 1. Design • Reading the customer specifications and supporting the Commercial Manager in value add and go-to-market strategy. • Translate the specifications into a design, which typically includes preparing Block diagrams, Single-Line Diagrams, and Substation Layout Drawings. • Developing electrical solutions for proposals, including the selection of equipment such as medium and low-voltage switchgear, transformers, DC systems, and fiber optic components. • Guarantee and integrated design managing the interfaces with the other design units, including E house and SCADA. • Responsible for validating the simulations and studies done by the Tender Engineer. This involves but is not limited to the following : 1. Cable calculations for MV and LV. 2. Load flow and short circuit studies. 3. Protection studies. 4. Grounding and lightning protection studies. 6. Interface drawings. 2. Costing Review • Cost Accuracy: This person is responsible for accurately costing the designed solution, including internal (ABB factories) and external (different suppliers) costs. • Cost Analysis: Perform detailed cost analyses to identify potential areas for savings and optimization without compromising the project's quality or technical requirements.
    Qualifications for the role

    • Electrical Engineering Degree with 4-7 years experience power systems design, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in leading a technical design department or a similar role within the electrical or automation industry.
    • Experience with SCADA and substation design is a plus.
    • Proven results in translating specifications into designs.
    • Do-it-yourself drive concerning design-Capable of making own designs, which are later reviewed by others.
    • Can work with very tight deadlines. Weekend - Evening work is not uncommon during specific cycles in the tender period.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communicator to interact within the organization.
    • Think out of the box is your second nature.
    • Willing to travel 30% of the time
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Proficiency in Technical English, written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.

Ports have many electrical consumers, such as Ship-to-Shore Cranes, Stacking Cranes, Reefer sockets, Shore Power, electric vehicles, and buildings. Within our team in Panama, we design and build electrical and automation infrastructure to provide reliable and sustainable power to our customers, enabling them to handle containers efficiently. Our scope includes Medium Voltage Substations, SCADA systems, Terminal Lighting, Reefer racks and their electrical systems, Electrical Vehicle charging infrastructure, and Grid Connection substations, among others. Our core products are prefabricated substations built in our facilities in Panama. These substations are fully tested and commissioned before they arrive at the construction site. These substations include medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, low-voltage switchgear, UPS, DC systems, SCADA, Fire Alarms, and climate control systems. Our project locations span the globe, covering the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. They typically take around 24 months to complete.
