As a Tendering and Quotation Specialist for Electrification Business Area in Tokyo, Japan, you will be responsible for creating and completing bids/estimations/quotations based on customer specification or customer requirements/budget in order to achieve both market competitiveness and high margin for the company. Local legal entity of this position is ABB https://K.K.

This position reports to

LPG Manager

Your responsibilities

  • Formulating competitive bids/estimates/quotations, taking into account best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation
  • Managing the preparation of all technical (e,g, defining the most suitable technology and product type(s)), financial (https://e.g. total price sheet, cash flow analysis) and if necessary project management (https://e.g. quantifies hours of engineering and commissioning) aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions
  • Being in accordance with bid/estimate/quotations planning, ensuring that inputs for editing activities are provided on time and according to established quality procedures
  • Collecting and archiving documentation regarding the offer/order and records assumptions and decisions taken during the development process
  • Identifying potential risks in the bids, quotations and estimates, and in any relates contract agreements across customers/channels
  • Being responsible for collecting and collating all information needed to prepare the proposal, including both technical and cost elements
  • Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs. Ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the sales process
  • Identifying potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and technically evaluating supplier offers to check match with specifications

Your background

  • Experience of MV, LV Switchgear business
  • Ability to work in a multinational environment and in a matrix organization
  • collaborative, solution-focused approach, with strong written and spoken communication skills
  • English skill for daily e-mail and telephone communication with internal stakeholders and customer
  • JLPT N1 or avobe Japanese skill
  • Flexibility in travelling within the specified area/country
