    Territory Sales Manager, Rocky Mountain Region

    You will be accountable for sales of Instrumentation, Process Automation Measurement & Analytics (PAMA), driving sales volumes and margins. You will aggressively and profitably grow ABB’s instrumentation and analytical market share in the Rocky Mountain Region. Focus on value messaging around applications for instrumentation with our end users, while supporting channels where needed to increase customer experience.

    Your responsibilities

    • Responsible to meet / exceed the specific product sales targets for the Rocky Mountain Region
    • End user focus and increase the markets awareness of all of the instrumentation products ABB has to offer
    • 20 to 30 end user sales visits per month to increase market awareness of the ABB range of products
    • Be an end user customer solution architect and understand the main applications in our corer markets
    • Main task is to drive top line growth from a product, industry and solutions perspective, train channel partners to be the experts on the products and solutions where needed, gain AVL (Approved Vendor List ) approvals for key accounts in their region and drive large project pursuits within the region
    • Develop and own 30, 60, 90 business / project plans to grow this region
    • Mutual action planning between the industry Sales Managers and our Channel Partners
    • Collaborate Channel manager and Technical sales specialists to support trade shows and customer events
    • Participate in monthly cadence calls and quarterly reviews to report and deliver on 30, 60, 90 business plan’s developmental efforts, opportunities and results
    • Deliver “Voice of Customer” feedback to the PMU’s (Product Manufacturing Unit​) and Product Management team to ensure our products and solutions consistently have the best value proposition in the market
    • Familiarize yourself with your adjacent team member’s product offerings (that is, analytical, flow, level) enough to be able to promote benefits and hand off to the right person or channel partner. Achieve this familiarity through taking applicable ABB e-learning courses from our extensive library
    • Support the LBU (Local Business Unit​) FES (Front end sales​) team core values. Safety & Integrity,Teamwork, Passion, Initiative, Resilience, Customer Empathy

    Your background

    • Associates Degree in technology with combined 2 years experience in instrumentation sales through direct and or indirect channel partners or distribution an advantage
    • but not mandatory
    • Ability to develop and implement structured sales processes and strategies that improve efficiency and lead to winning
    • Obsessive focus on end users, their wants and needs, their goals and objectives, how they buy, how they maintain their equipment, how they partner with suppliers
    • Ability to develop relationships at all levels in ABB, our channel partners and our end users (from field personnel to corner office)
    • Solid understanding of instrumentation, level, technology and markets
    • Leverage your existing relationships in the industry to bring new selling opportunities to ABB
    • Good time / activity and priority management skills
    • Intense competitor knowledge; Passion for selling and winning
    • Resilience to overcome rejection
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
