    TMC Italy - Transport Management Center Manager

    In this role you will be responsible to lead the Transport Management Center (TMC) operations by effectively managing daily Trasport and Customs Operations, operational KPI’s and by driving the continuous improvement of TMC processes, tools and services. The position requires making decisions which impact cost and service on a constant basis with minimal review and requires a broad range of knowledge of transportation market, Customs, preferred/potential carriers to effectively lead the TMC teams to increasing level of maturity as well as effectively managing escalations.

    Your responsibilities

    • Optimize ABB Transports and Customs Operations, considering cost, service (lead time and other shipping requirements) as well as other planning parameters.
    • Accountability for delivery against internal and external Service Level Agreements.
    • Overall operational responsibility for General Cargo Transport and Import Export Customs Operations.
    • Managing daily operational issues and escalations across all Business Area in TMC scope.
    • Work closely with transport partners on resolving issues and providing direction.
    • Support business partners having full visibility on shipments status, transportation queries and problem resolution.
    • Share, launch and deliver continuous improvement projects within transportation area (Best Practices) - Very high focus on sustainability Projects.
    • Transport Management Center team performance delivery - monitors and manages the performance de-livery of Team via frequent KPI reviews.
    • Training, development and management of Transport Management Center team.

    Your background

    • Bachelors degree in engineering / Logistics with minimum 8 years experience in supply chain/ operation or Logistic.
    • At least 5 years experience in people management.
    • Result oriented approach.
    • Sound knowledge of of transportation rules and regulations.
    • Very good English (spoken and written).
    • Strong relationship skills and team work.
    • Analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple time sensitive tasks in a dynamic environment.
    • Self-disciplined, able to work autonomously with high degree of initiative and with an appropriate sense of urgency.
    • Experience in a results driven environment and problem solving and analytical skills
    • Availability to mobility.
