ABB is looking for a Trade & Transportation Specialist to provide support to Energy Industries Division. As member of Procurement & Logistics team, the Trade & Transportation Specialist is the owner of the logistics process, optimizing product and material deliveries, providing expertise and support to the Proposal, Project Management, Procurement, Production and Warehouse teams ensuring that the logistic activities align with the corporate policies, procedures and country regulations.

    Your responsibilities

    • Work in tight collaboration with the Proposal, Procurement, Project Management, Production and Warehouse teams, understanding the shipping requirements and providing appropriate solutions that meet quality, legal and cost parameters.
    • Implement, maintain and develop efficient and effective processes/procedures/SOPs to support the transportation and logistics activities.
    • Prepare and maintain a delivery schedule and communicate with all relevant departments.
    • Establish, maintain and develop partnerships with carriers and customs brokers.
    • Evaluate carriers and customs brokers performance, investigate customs clearance and transportation issues, implement corrective actions.
    • Work with carriers to coordinate shipments domestically and internationally.
    • Negotiate rates and/or services where needed or where established agreements do not exist.
    • Ensure the integrity of shipping documentation in accordance with the Trade, Transportation and Customs regulations.
    • Maintain records for easy traceability and visibility.
    • Coordinate claims settlement and communicate accordingly with the appropriate functions.
    • Process in timely manner, the carriers and customs brokers invoices.

    Your background

    • A Bachelor´s degree in International Trade or similar.
    • 4+ years of experience in Trade, International Transportation and Logistics field.
    • Experience in customs regulations, export controls and Incoterms.
    • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with an entrepreneurial spirit that brings people together.
    • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong focus on optimization, efficiency and process improvements.
    • Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency, managing and prioritizing multiple time sensitive tasks in a dynamic environment.
    • Motivated to invest in yourself and further expand your knowledge.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
    • Use of TMS (Transportation Management Systems) will be an asset.
    • Use of ERP Tool (SAP) desirable.
    • Knowledge in Lean Six Sigma Tools.
    • Bilingual – Must be fluent in English & French (written & verbal)
    • Availability to travel.
