    US Operations Manager

    Working as part of the Procurement and Logistics team in Electrification Services, this role involves gathering and interpreting data related to cost, quality and demand patterns. As a core member of the Electrification Service Americas team, the US Operations Manager will have direct responsibility and strategic oversight for driving operational excellence, quality, training and competence development, workforce optimization and relevant tools, processes and systems in support of field services, internal stakeholders and external customers. Reporting to the Americas Hub Manager, you will develop a best in class organization ensuring the highest customer satisfaction and operations efficiency. This position will ideally be seated in our Cary, NC offices, but may be located in proximity to one of our major US locations.

    Your responsibilities

    • Establish and maintain a quality and continuous improvement culture within US Service, by assuring and controlling Quality with systems/products, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations
    • Monitor customer satisfaction and drive improvement actions with the support of the relevant functions and teams
    • Accountable to deliver quality and operational excellence priorities and all other financial performance KPIs (Key Performance Indicators​) for field services
    • Ensures lessons learned from project execution and quality issues are analyzed and conclusions are incorporated in continuous improvement actions
    • Continuously detect, develop, document and share best practices across relevant organizations
    • Accountable to build a training curriculum and tiered certification for Field Service Engineers to build an effective, capable and high performing Field Service organization
    • Develop tools for competency assessments and partner with manager to design development plans
    • Own and drive Service Operations KPIs to monitor and improve organization performance
    • Maintain a pulse on utilization and workforce needs to deploy third party resources across field services

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s degree is required with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a Services or Operations Management role within a Technology domain
    • A hands on and entrepreneur approach to establish and develop a new organization in a fast paced market
    • A global creative thinking mindset with an openness to change, development and adaptability
    • Experience in working on a global level with multi national, cultural & remote teams
    • Proven experience with lean / six sigma and related certifications (example, Black Belt or similar)
    • Direct industry and market knowledge of field service and manufacturing would be a plus
    • Strong customer focus and result oriented, pro-active attitude towards problem solving and task completion
    • Knowledge and experience with Salesforce business tools
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
