Warehouse Manager

In this role, you will be in charge of ensuring that warehousing operations are executed in a safe, timely and efficient manner. This is a key position in the Low Voltage switchgear systems ANSI, Electrification Distribution Solutions (ELDS) team. You will be responsible to plan, direct and monitor all activities in the warehouse. Develop and manage warehouse operations to effectively control the receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of products, systems and services to customers.

Your responsibilities
- Warehouse budget: Proposes and manages the annual warehouse budget. Operates within approved budget. Manages the warehouse staff activities to optimize resources and determines actions to cost issues as necessary
- Warehouse improvement: Continuously improves warehouse operations using lean practices. Plans and optimizes warehouse utilization and inventory
- Warehouse operations: Plans and monitors the storage, delivery, and dispatch of orders and keeps stock control systems up to date. Oversees stock control and processes orders
- Health, safety, and environment (HSE): Ensures that Group and local health, safety and environmental guidelines and directives are implemented and understood to ensure safety of people and resources
- People leadership and development: Ensures (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies
- Essential Duties: Oversee receiving, warehousing, and issuing materials as per SAP System
- Coordinates with businesses, Project Managers, production, suppliers and transportation to meet production requirements
- Perform analytics on inventory inaccuracies and produce reports and statistics regularly on inventory management
- Coordinate with packing supplier for supply of material JIT (Just in Time) for related dispatches
- Supervise activities related to warehousing, material movement, loading, shipping, invoicing, etc
- Coordinate for inventory verifications with auditors including physical verification
- Maintain and assign training and development per the Training Matrix and GROW Model for ABB
- Responsible for accuracy and control of inventory for both onsite and offsite locations
- Responsible for cycle counting process and publishing results
- Work closely with Operations on meeting shop floor expectations
- Other duties as assigned
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field and 10 years of warehouse management experience
- Must be familiar and have practical experience with SAP, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Projects, PowerPoint and other relevant software
- Knowledge of ERP (SAP) tools supporting the management of the warehouse area
- Strong interpersonal skills with good written and spoken command of English as a must
- Organization of own work, teamwork skills and highly developed communication skills
- Ability to work under time pressure and to cooperate with stakeholders, suppliers and customers (internal and external)
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or other Continuous Improvement programs/tools
- Strong Project Management skills
- Must be self motivated with a high level of creativity
- Complex problem-solving skills required
- Must have a strong reputation for customer focus
- Strong conflict resolution skills required
- Experience in dealing with the cultural diversity of a global business environment
- SAP certifications related to material management
- Six Sigma Green Belt
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
