    The HR Transformation Project: Local Workday Payroll & Process Expert role, reporting to the US HR Integration Manager, is a core member of the US HR Shared Services Front Office Team. In this role you will be part of a critical HRIS transformation project for Canada, Puerto Rico and the United States (CA-PR-US) linking applications and integrations to our Workday implementation platform. As such, you will lead testing of Workday and the numerous integrations related to HCM, payroll, time and benefits. Post implementation, you will deliver service assistance to the HR community and other stakeholders, including complex and escalated HR requests related to multiple services. This role will include business process configuration, testing, reporting development, end user training, and data management. partner with Information Systems (IS), HR Colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders to effectively improve and maintain the HCM, Payroll and Time system for operational efficiency. This individual will also support employees, managers and HR business partners on self-service functionality with a focus on troubleshooting, corrective action implementation, and providing centralized administrator system support. This project role will conclude in 25 - 30 months. A permanent assignment in the post-project support team will be assessed in due course. This is a remote (or hybrid-remote) role that will accept applicants regardless of location, with a preference for those in the US Eastern or Central time zones.

    Your responsibilities

    • Supports business process strategies of US/PR HR to achieve efficiency, productivity, and improved control Assists with implementation of key strategies and projects
    • Supports and optimizes the design, development and performance of key HR business data systems and processes
    • Ensures functionality of new systems to meet business and compliance requirements
    • Evaluates Workday releases for feature changes and recommends process or system optimization in alignment with business objectives
    • Partners with stakeholders (payroll, compensation, benefits, information systems) to resolve break fixes and implement project related updates
    • Oversees large data loads and reviews HR related data for projects to ensure accurate data transfer and smooth integration with downstream applications
    • Provide training and assistance utilizing Workday Community and other HRT supported applications
    • Collaborate with payroll and benefit departments on internal/external audits
    • Maintains the design and configuration of earnings and deductions, regulatory limits, conditional calculations, and tax rates
    • Ensures system compliance with regulatory requirements, including General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), SOX and other control narratives and matrices
    • Complies with HR Technology and Information Systems change control processes

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s degree with four years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education
    • Experience in Workday Payroll and HCM core areas
    • Experience with Workday Onboarding, Talent, Recruiting, Compensation, Absence, Time/Tracking, Benefit, & Retirement.
    • Advanced level of understanding of Enterprise Interface Builder (EIBs), integrations and calculated fields
    • Solid understanding of payroll processes and data flows between HR, Payroll, Benefits & Compensation
    • Excellent Stakeholder management/ Customer Experience Skills
    • Experience working in Payroll related projects and/or implementations
    • Experience working with functional HR teams in the development and implementation of technical solutions that improve efficiencies and performance
    • Proven background in problem solving and partnership in a global environment
    • Passion for working with people and systems, and a strong interest in helping customers succeed
    • Ability to maintain personal and confidential information
    • Self-starter and ability to work independently but also collaborate across teams.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to summarize the work done in an articulate fashion via email or case notes
    • Demonstrated leadership skill to work with and motivate virtual teams to achieve challenging results
    • Organizational skills to manage multiple moving parts simultaneously and optimally in a matrix organization and with very little oversight and direction
    • Structured thinker with the ability to direct teams to solve problems at hand efficiently
    • Able to present and propose current and/or new system functionality to the business users for review. 
    • Able to work with business users to structure training relative to said functionality and with respect to their Divisional and Functional Business process  
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
    • Lean Sigma / Six Sigma quality and process improvement experience preferred
    • High degree of client orientation and Customer service mind-set
    • Strong analytical approach to problem solving, high degree of proactive behavior and result orientation
    • High degree of structure and self-organization, deadline focused
    • Excellent Powerpoint and Excel skills
