Role Description  

As Business Design Lead, you will be responsible for reframing business problems for sustainable innovation, using a design mindset, and solving for Desirability, Feasibility, Viability and Impact. You will: 

  • Nurture a passion and curiosity about sustainability. Experience in and complete fluency in the topic is awesome but not mandatory as long as there’s the desire to learn. 

  • Be a strategic, lateral-thinking problem solver with human-centered design experience, comfortable with value casing + KPIs / KEIs, comfortable working in complex environments. 

  • Establish human-centric business strategies for our clients, fusing the practices of design and strategy to structure the business impact of design at a strategic, operational, and organizational level. 

  • Leverage qualitative (landscape inspiration and qualitative research) and quantitative (financial data, client business data, quant surveys) insights to achieve the greatest impact. 

  • Help our clients articulate a clear path forward, build client confidence in the value of our ideas, and prioritize the ones with highest potential. This means having solid quantitative analysis skills and ability to “run the numbers” and steer team towards the largest value pools.  

  • Translate Vision into a tangible roadmap: mapping organizational and technological implications, enablers requirements, dependencies and modeling high level impact and value case. 

  • Co-lead business design activities, including client workshops, stakeholder interviews, business intelligence gathering, creative brainstorms, visioning, and KPI development. 

  • Co-own the business background point of view by researching and synthesizing materials from a wide variety of client materials, interviews, external sources, analytics, and data sources. 

  • Create quality, insightful, and confidence-inspiring client deliverables, visual storytelling skills a strong bonus 

  • Communicate and share interests and insights with the project team to broaden perspectives of their work. 

  • Nurture a network of colleagues and regularly share progress and insights, learning from each other.

Basic Qualifications 

These are the minimum requirements for an aspirant to be considered for the position applying to: 

  • 3+ years of agency or consultancy experience; 2+ years of business design strategy experience.  

  • 1+ years’ experience in growth strategy focused on one or more of the following areas: consumer product and service innovation, retail strategy, sustainability strategy, new ventures strategy .

  • 1+ years’ experience working across multi-disciplinary teams (strategy, design, creative, technology, etc.) .

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. 

  • Experience with Excel and/or other analysis tools for business analysis and value casing 

 Preferred Qualifications 

  • 1+ years’ experience working in design thinking/ service design methodologies (user research, lateral thinking, co-creation workshops, concept ideation, etc.). 

  • MBA preferred or Masters in Economics, Sustainability, Design or any related field 

  • Understanding of areas of specialization within the greater design landscape, including but not limited to Design Research, Visual Design, and Content Design.   

  • Knowledge of and experience with applying user-centered design processes.   

  • Ability to create experience maps, user journeys and service blueprints  

  • Ability to learn how to use new tools in real time. 

  • Additional service and visual design skills a bonus, e.g. Familiarity with rapid prototyping methods, ranging from paper sketching to digital prototypes. Familiarity with InVision, Sketch, or other prototyping methods.

As required by Colorado law under the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is

$90,288 - $148,900, and information on benefits offered is here.
