Position summary

This is an extremely rare opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary global team in Accenture Interactive dedicated to making sustainability relevant and actionable for everyone. Our mission is to create positive impact for our clients and the world by bringing human insight to companies’ sustainability challenges, adding perspective and research, and creating strategies, ideas, products, experiences, and campaigns with genuine impact. Our team is made up of big thinkers from companies like Fjord, Droga5, and Karmarama – all working collaboratively to solve big problems.

Role Description

As Global Communications Strategy Director, Sustainability, you will be responsible for leading the communications strategy discipline through a sustainability lens. You will:

  • Have a passion and curiosity about sustainability. Experience in and complete fluency in the topic is awesome but not a mandatory as long as there’s the desire to learn.

  • Pioneer insightful methodologies for weaving sustainability into communications strategy practice

  • Enhance others’ knowledge and understanding of how to bring sustainability upstream – into briefs, media considerations - and downstream – optimizing through the funnel, where and how work comes to life.

  • Collaborate with the client to define needs, business objectives, and brand goals to inform insightful, innovative and sustainable communications strategy.

  • Bridge the gap between sustainability, media and creative, overseeing the creation of journeys, engagement frameworks, campaign ecosystems, and communication plans across paid, owned and earned touchpoints with sustainability as a consideration.

  • Champion sustainable brand purpose and ensure that it lives across all key touchpoints and communications

  • Identify new opportunities for great work beyond the brief / additional opportunities for growth and/or areas to be more sustainable

  • Lead client presentations and senior client relationships.

  • Drive collaboration with external IAT partners, including media, PR and CRM agencies.

  • Partner with the data and analytics teams, to ensure that measurement frameworks, reporting cadences and campaign optimizations are taking place

  • Explain, discuss, and justify decisions eloquently. Give effective feedback and direction to other team members.

  • Be up for bringing your strategic brain to any facet of any project or problem

Basic Qualifications

These are the minimum requirements for an aspirant to be considered for the position applying to:

  • 10+ years of communication strategy in a creative agency setting, media company, brand or adjacent industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience

  Preferred Qualifications

  • You can demonstrate mastery and proven track record of delivering creatively inspiring, business-driving tactical briefs, with examples of exceptional creative output
  • You’re a voice of authority within the communications strategy practice and company.
  • You are already, or have interest in being, an influential voice on the intersection of marketing, strategy and sustainability.
  • You have deep understanding of the media landscape, both offline and online.
  • You’re an inclusive leader demonstrating a high degree of cultural and emotional intelligence. that leads to effective collaboration across many different working styles and perspectives.
  • You know how to empower others and create a genuine sense of team cohesion to drive the agency’s strategic agenda forward.
  • You’re highly respected by the client and creatives for delivering strategic thinking that answers their business problems, and for being a champion of creative excellence in sustainability.
  • You are adept at managing multiple projects and clients to a very high degree of quality.
  • You have exceptional awareness of culture and influences.
  • You believe in the power of creativity and brands.
  • You can run a pitch, and you are an inspirational presenter.
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit, are curious with a bias towards action.
  • You have experience in sustainability efforts, projects or campaigns.

As required by Colorado law under the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is

$159,516 - $288,500, and information on benefits offered is here.
