Responsibilities
About the Role
The Credit Manager assists the Regional Credit Manager (RCM), manages all credit functions and supports indirect business activity within the Branch. This position is responsible for training Branch personnel on credit policy issues and underwriting negotiations. This team member has contact with other company departments, as well as automobile dealers and other finance and credit sources.
In this role you will:
Quickly adapt and lead credit analysts through organizational change
Provide guidance to Credit Analysts and creating an environment for success
Continually exhibit established AmeriCredit/GM Financial leadership competencies
Review credit exceptions and determine their approval or denial within credit authority established
Assist with the hiring, training, and development of Credit Team, as needed
Recommend decisions to RCM on approvals outside of credit authority
Oversee development, maintenance of dealer relationships that ensure volume objectives and credit quality
Provide timely feedback, training, and coaching to Credit Analysts
Ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures
Ensure Branch office cooperation with other departments, to maximize efficiency within the company
Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of sales, credit and funding processes in consumer finance
Extensive knowledge of the retail automobile finance industry
Knowledge of the Company's credit policies
Working knowledge of consumer credit, credit laws and regulations
Ability to positively motivate, develop, coach and lead others
Ability to work under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
Credit underwriting skills
Customer relations skills
Display commitment to continuous improvement of business
Excellent negotiation skills
Presentation and communication skills
Sales skills necessary to develop and maintain productive dealer relationships

Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor's Degree preferred
2-4 years of supervisory experience preferred
3-5 years underwriting experience in the indirect retail auto finance industry and prefer experience with GM Financial preferred

Salary
The range for this role is: USD $42.31 to $78.32 per hour. At GM Financial, we strive for transparency in all aspects of our business, including pay equity. This is the GM Financial pay range for this role and job level. The exact salary and compensation will vary based on factors like knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This role is eligible to participate in a performance-based incentive plan. Full time employees are eligible to participate in health benefits on day one of employment.
