SUMMARY: Professional level sales position with a current working knowledge of light, medium and heavy duty vehicles, class 1 through class 8. This role must possess the ability for identification, trouble shooting and technical assistance for heavy duty customers. The role is responsible for developing new business, expanding existing customer relationships and growing heavy duty branch sales. Assists with maintaining heavy duty inventory to support customer needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure high standards of customer service and provide an overall positive experience for heavy duty customers. Handles customer inquiries both over the phone and by email, researches required information using available resources, follows up on customer calls where necessary. Achieve personal and branch goals, and service objectives. Assist branch manage with maintaining heavy duty inventory. Responsible for all monies collected from heavy duty customers as well as petty cash and will call funds.
QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates must possess strong computer, verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative team environment and a drive to succeed. Candidates should have a current working knowledge of the heavy duty industry in general and specific aftermarket competitors (NAPA, O Reilly, FleetPride, Truck Pro, etc.). Requires a working knowledge of heavy duty systems, replacement parts sales. Light and medium duty truck knowledge is required. Field sales experience in the heavy duty parts industry is a plus. Customer service experience proficiency in the use of technology tools used to manage and develop new and existing customers, including but not limited to computer hardware, CRM programs and software and on-line resources (internet and intranet and telephone systems). Adapts positively to a changing environment. Able to work independently and with minimal supervision with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Basic proficiency in MS Office (Excel and Word, Powerpoint a plus), with strong and accurate data entry skills. Willingness to work cooperatively across all departments to provide Advance Auto Parts, WorldPac and Carquest customers with the best possible experience. Bilingual and ASE parts certification is a plus.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED, plus successful completion of a vocational technical program; and 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
