Job Description

Advance Auto Parts, a leader in the automotive aftermarket, currently has an opening for a Manager, Data Management. As a Manager at Advance Auto Parts, you will have an opportunity to disrupt a $100B auto parts industry to bring better and faster solutions to customers. You will be responsible for applying your innovative and engineer skills with Data & Analytics team.

The Manager, Data Management should possess the skillset to develop and implement data pipelines, standards and procedures for the Professional and Customer Facing Systems domain.  The Manager, Data Management will serve as the single point-of-contact for the Projects being executed in the Professional Customer Facing Systems and be a lead data Manager to manage execution and guide the team.  The Manager, Data Management will also define and manage day to day activities within Data track for Professional and Customer Facing Systems domain.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Demonstrate strong written and oral communication abilities while interacting with all levels of the organization.
• Responsible to document and implement data pipelines responsible for moving the data within the Customer Facing Domain.
• Manage and serve as the single point-of-contact for all the Professional Business and Customer Facing Systems domain and manage the End to End execution of the projects.
• Manage the communication plan to make sure all the data consumers are aware of the data strategies and any changes
• Develop prototypes, technical proof of concepts and code with various solutions and convert platform architecture blueprints to real life working artifacts
• Assist in conducting technical training and onboarding of new staff
• Strong cloud experience - AWS, Redshift or Snowflake
• Define, design, model, implement, and operate large, evolving, structured and unstructured datasets
• Partner with Product Owners and cross functional teams in a collaborative and agile environment
• Work with the latest open source tools, libraries, platforms and languages to build data products enabling other analysts to explore and interact with large and complex data sets
• Collaborate across the enterprise to enable and share best practices and reusable and scalable tools and code for our analyst community
• Establish forward looking Data and technology objectives and developing the strategies and actions for the team to achieve them

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in information science, data management, computer science or related field preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of IT experience with 5 years working with Data Management, Business Intelligence, Architecture, Machine Learning or Data Analytics
• Familiarity with Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and SQL on Hadoop related technologies
• At least 5 years of experience in application design, development or analysis
• Experience and proficiency in one of Python, Java, Scala, or a similar programming language
• Experience leading technical delivery teams, overseeing all technical requirements and deliverables
• Define, design, model, implement, and operate large, evolving, structured and unstructured datasets
• Experience with Hadoop/Spark implementation, NoSQL technologies (Cassandra, MongoDB, Neo4j etc.).
• Knowledge of Big Data Platforms and advanced analytics technologies (predictive as well as prescriptive – SAS, R, Python, Machine Learning etc.)
• Experience in building data pipelines and integrations
• Experience in documenting the data flow & process mapping (min 1-2 years)
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and written communication skills to frequently interact with all levels of the organization
• Ability to cultivate relationships with cross-functional key stakeholders and teams to achieve business objectives and drive strategic change
• Strong analytical skill to troubleshoot the issues, analyze the cause, quickly come-up with the possible solution(s), document the changes, and communicate to the data governance council
• Proven ability to be a strategic thinker to drive the necessary ownership and data governance within the organization
• Ability to evaluate risks and provide business recommendations / solutions in a timely manner
• Ability to remain calm in high stress situations while navigating and leading during times of conflict

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Six Sigma Certification, preferred
• PMP Certification, preferred
