The Position

This position provides change management leadership for core strategic projects that successfully advance Transformation for the Advance Auto Parts.  The Organizational Change Management Manager will play a key role in ensuring that changes are effectively translated to all impacted audiences, driving mindset and behavior change to enable project and business objectives.  

The Organizational Change Management Manager​ partners closely with the Project Teams to understand the project deeply and recommend the needed change management actions.  This position will identify, oversee, and ensure the successful execution of all change management activities for identified projects to drive faster adoption and lasting change.  Key Change Management

Activities include:

  • Stakeholder identification and analysis
  • Facilitation of change impact analysis by audience
  • Development of tailored change management plan to address audience-specific needs and impacts
  • Development and execution of ongoing stakeholder engagement plans
  • Key message development, ensuring that program messages effectively connect to broader business messages and other ongoing initiatives
  • Creation and management of readiness assessments
  • Development and execution of needed communication and training plans and deliverables (partnering with internal communication and training teams as needed)
  • Design of measurement and risk mitigation approach

This position will also be a key contributor to the evolution of the enterprise Change Management Program across the organization, partnering on the development and rollout of key methodologies, tools, and resources. 

The Organizational Change Management Manager​ is part of the corporate Organizational Change Management team reporting to the Sr. Director, Change Management.  This position will partner heavily with key stakeholders across the organization, at all levels.  Collaboration with key partners such as the IT PMO, Human Resources, Learning & Development, and Communication teams will be critical to success.

Responsibilities

  • Be a critical partner to the project teams enabling successful project implementation with targeted impacted audiences, and support them in integrating change management activities into their project plans
  • Create and implement Change Management strategies and plans for strategic projects that maximize employee engagement and adoption through the development and implementation of change management tools and processes
  • Facilitate identification of, definition of, and interventions for audience-specific change impacts.
  • Manage and monitor change adoption by identifying success metrics, developing ways to measure against those metrics, and outlining mitigation approaches for the project
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to the enterprise Change Management Strategy through the management of cross-functional linkages & activities in ways that support a cohesive employee workplace experience for all organizational change initiatives
  • Build and maintain effective foundational partnerships across the organization to develop holistic implementation plans for key projects (i.e. Learning & Development to ensure effective Training Strategy and training deliverables, HR/Business for organization/staffing, Corporate Communications for input and messaging distribution, and IT PMO for project implementation alignment)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, with knowledge and successful implementation of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Eight to ten years of combined experience in change management
  • Demonstrated success in supporting large transformational projects from a change management perspective
  •  Demonstrated strong project management skills, with experience planning and managing timelines across multiple workstreams Experience leading teams- This position may directly or indirectly lead a small team.
