The successful candidate should be a student pursuing a four-year degree in mechanical Engineering. An academic standing of Sophomore status or higher is preferred.

In this position the co-op will alternate semesters of full time academic study and full-time semesters of paid work. For example, if hired for the fall work semester, the co-op will work full time from September to December then return to school full time spring semester (January-May), return to full time work summer semester. This sequence will continue until graduation.

Additional consideration will be given to candidates with a strong academic background, outstanding attention to detail, and organization and presentation skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs - especially Excel and Word - also is preferred.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

The Engineering Services team collaborates with many areas of the Company, including operations and construction.  Accordingly, this person may be assigned to various departments during their Co-op position. Co-op will broaden knowledge and experience in the field of engineering by:

• Supporting design engineers on a variety of electric generation projects to improve the Company’s generation system efficiency, performance.and reliability.
• Managing database for all programs;
• Developing new databases for program tracking and administration:
• Verifying piping, equipment and electric systems through field research;
• Updating blue prints/schematic and system modeling

Co-op may be expected to complete additional assignments as determined by their supervisor.

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
