    Construction Coordinator

    The Construction Coordinator will manage and direct substation, transmission and distribution projects.  The successful candidate must be safety oriented, a team player, knowledgeable of construction methods, organized and able to communicate appropriately to stakeholders.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Manage and direct daily activities to successfully complete substation, transmission and distribution projects from pre-construction to closeout
    • Work with site safety coordinator to ensure all safety requirements are met during construction
    • Coordinate efforts to isolate power source and receive isolation order
    • Review project documentation, specifications and contract language to ensure Owner requirements are met during construction
    • Resolve construction issues as they arise
    • Provide input on construction sequencing
    • Monitor and coordinate material acquisition, delivery and receipt completion
    • Coordinate and document the return of unused materials
    • Analyze and mange risks associated with the construction process; develop and implement appropriate actions to meet project schedule and budget constraints
    • Monitor and manage processes to ensure permit requirements such as stormwater permits are completed as directed
    • Provide updates to the Project Manager regarding progress, change order requests, requests for information, etc.
    • Ensure as-built drawings are documented and submitted to Engineering for updates

    Work Hours

    • The typical schedule is Monday through Friday
    • Holiday, weekends and irregular hours may be required
    • Travel to projects throughout the AES Ohio service territory is required

    Requirements

    • 5+ years of experience managing utility construction projects
    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering or equivalent experience/field
    • Proficient with MS Office Suite of tools, exposure to project scheduling software preferably Primavera (P6) preferred
    • Competent in conflict and crisis management
    • Excellent time, communication and project management skills
