    The AES Clean Energy finance team is seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst with at least 2 years’ experience in FP&A or cost control. SAP Investment Management and/or Funds Management experience is a big plus but not required. The Senior FP&A Analyst will be responsible for tracking construction project capex and cost center opex versus budget/forecast. Under the direction of the Manager, FP&A, the position will play a key role in the Company’s on budget execution of investments and G&A. High emotional intelligence, resourcefulness, collaborative, problem solving, organizational skills and a proactive attitude will position the successful candidate to earn an exciting opportunity with this fast-growing company.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    The Senior FP&A Analyst’s duties will include the following (other duties may be assigned):

    • Be responsible for collaborating with Project Managers to prepare annual budgets for our expanding pipeline.
    • Uploading and maintaining budgets in SAP using the global standard Cost Breakdown Structure “CBS”
    • Monitor and control project spend with key partners from the business.
    • Prepare portions of the Company’s annual budget and monthly forecast process by being responsible for the initial and continued capital spend of various new projects.
    • Responsibility for the investment and cost aspects of assigned projects from the company’s portfolio including preparing and reviewing financial results. Act as one of the primary financial contacts to the Project Controls Office for assigned projects.
    • Investigate, explain, and present budget to actual variances to senior leadership.
    • Assist in preparing and reviewing various items in the Company’s monthly reporting packages, including budget versus actual reports and explain variances to management.
    • Contribute to periodic and ad-hoc initiatives of the FP&A department. Provide occasional mentorship and support to new and/or less-experienced FP&A colleagues.

    Requirements:

    • 2+ years’ experience in FP&A or cost control
    • Effective coordinator and communicator of financial information
    • Ability to work effectively with accounting systems
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Sound analytical, planning, and organizational skills
    • Fluent in English
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Must be located within the US territory

    Preferred experience:

    • SAP experience preferred
    • Renewable energy experience preferred
    • Experience analyzing complex infrastructure project budgets
