    AES Clean Energy (CE) is seeking a forward-thinking Senior Manager, Business Systems to join our growing organization. Under direction of the Enterprise Architect, you will lead AES Clean Energy’s Quickbase team. Driving administration, ongoing development, and analysis/reporting efforts in Quickbase to support our rapidly growing business. AES CE, a division of The AES Corporation, specializes in developing, owning, and operating renewable energy projects.     The Continuous Improvement (CI) team is the horizontal thread that ties together the vertical teams within AES CE to drive coordination, collaboration, communications, and efficiencies by applying system level processes and optimization to keep the full company focused and aligned. The Senior Manager, Business Systems will work with the Continuous Improvement team to continue to develop, expand and improve the Quickbase applications that support all the core business functions of our division. The role will focus on building out a development and support team as well as new Quickbase development to expand our core applications and ongoing maintenance, administration, change management, and continuous improvement of our existing Quickbase. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to analyze and organize information, develop capabilities, and improve processes as well as a deep understanding of Quickbase. They will work closely with all internal teams to understand business needs and enjoy providing excellent support services. This position will be based in the AES CE Louisville, Colorado office. Alternate locations (Salt Lake City, or remote) can be considered.  

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Contribute to the full life cycle of Quickbase application development. Including design, coding, testing, and production support of internal and external facing Quickbase applications
    • Administrate the Quickbase environment to assure functionality and performance and maintain a support structure that resolves any issues quickly with expert service to our users
    • Create and maintain effective application documentation and user support materials
    • Maintain strong Data Governance policies and practices assuring high data quality and integrity
    • Understand data flow and integrations between multiple cloud enterprise applications and expand and refine scalable solutions across all systems
    • Research new methodologies and solutions to meet our growing needs and assure we stay nimble and competitive
    • Establish, support, and guide a team of junior developers and analysts
    • Manage the day-to-day activities of the team, such as motivating team to achieve organizational goals, delegating tasks to team members, defining and implementing timelines, etc.
    • Develop and implement timelines to achieve business targets
    • Establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization at all levels, and be viewed as a team player with exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
    • Develop and train the business on system capabilities to ensure users are maximizing full systems capability
    • Support AES Clean Energy by identifying automation opportunities

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • 3-5 years demonstrated experience in Quickbase required.
    • College Degree with IT or Business Process major/focus or equivalent additional experience with Quickbase in an applicable business environment preferred.
    • Strong Data Analysis and Modeling experience and understanding of data structures
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. BI tools experience desired, Power BI preferred
    • Familiarity working with Python, JavaScript, JSON, and API for Cloud Integrations (Workato preferred). HTML/CSS, XML, and PHP a bonus.
    • Process Improvement Skills: Ability to analyze and optimize defined areas or processes within a cross-functional organization
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to create organized and informative reports, as well as comprehensive, accurate documentation
    • Must be able to problem solve technical issues, multitask, and work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent organizational and motivational skills with the ability to balance, prioritize, and manage multiple projects of differing priorities and deadlines

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
